Illinois Lawmakers to Continue Pension Discussion

The General Assembly may be done meeting for the season, but the work is far from over for Gov. Quinn and other State leaders.  The states failing pension program did not get discussed at last Thursdays meeting but Gov. Quinn knows it cannot go unaddressed as it has for so long.

Quinn plans to meet with the President of the Senate John Cullerton, speaker of the house Mike Madigan, Majority House Leader Barbara Flynn Currie and House Minority Leader Tom Cross sometime this week to begin hashing out a pension plan.  Quinn says he plans to have a plan done before the end of summer.
