Kroger, Rt. 36 in Decatur
WSOY and our community partners, ADM, Team Soy, Skeff Distributing, Jones & Thomas, Decatur Back & Neck Center, Tickets N Trips, First Christian Church, Dales Southlake Pharmacy, Herald & Review and WAND-TV are coming together to help stock two local food pantries and we are asking for the community's help.
The Goal
Last year, over 640 thousand pounds of food was collected during our 12 hour broadcast at the Kroger on Rt. 36 in Decatur. Over the past 10 years, nearly 3 million pounds of food has been collected during this community event and every pound of food raised goes directly Catholic Charities and Salvation Army to feed the hungry in our community. Last year, because of the wonderful generosity of the community, the WSOY Community Food Drive was also able to give to the Good Samaritan Inn, Oasis Day Center, Northeast Community Fund and the Judy Mason Thanksgiving Basket Project. This year we hope to exceed 650 thousand pounds of food!
