Recently retired Piatt County Judge John Shonkwiler passed away on Wednesday night from an undisclosed illness he had been battling for months. Shonkwiler served for the 6th Judicial Circuits including Macon County and in Piatt County as the Chief Judge since 1994. He retired in May and a search for his replacement is still underway.
