Jury Selection Begins In Pelo Trial

The process of seating a jury has started in the trial of a former Bloomington police officer accused of raping four women. Attorneys in the trial of Jeff Pelo say it could take three days to settle on jurors. Pelo has pleaded not-guilty to 35 charges, including 28 counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. If convicted of all the charges, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. Prosecutors say Pelo stalked the women and then raped them. Pelo's attorney, however, questions how they could identify their masked attacker. Pelo was a sergeant and 17-year police veteran when he was arrested in June 2006. He's been in jail since then and resigned from his job last year.
