Golf Courses Adjust Watering to Comply With Water Restrictions



Director of Golf with the Park District Rick Anderson says that in order to comply with the water restrictions in Decatur, the golf courses have to strategically water, so they can keep the most valuable land green while not wasting a drop. He says the recent installation of new sprinkler heads have made it a lot easier to control what is being watered…



Anderson says he doesn’t anticipate the expected tighter water restrictions to affect the courses that much because they are already using less water than they are allotted.  One factor that really helps keep the water usage low is that Hickory Point and Red Tail Run are mainly supplied by well water; leaving Scovill as the only course whose main water supply is city water.
